Direct Connect Mode - the monitor is ready to use out of the box for local monitoring between parent unit and camera i.e. there is a direct link between parent unit and camera that establishes automatically, no additional set-up required.
App Connect Mode - the camera is set-up to communicate via a WiFi network for remote access to the camera via the VTech app on your smartphone/tablet. Once the camera is set up for App Connect Mode it will continue to communicate to the parent unit in Direct Connect Mode, and will simultaneously communicate to the VTech app.
